Dope is fine, the production is incredible (and you're delusional if you think otherwise, it's Rick ****ing Rubin), the vocals suit the subject matter. I just personally think IWBWY was the superior song for myself. I'm glad Gaga wrote Dope though since it clearly helped her come to terms with her addiction and find clarity in her recovery at a time where she had to make a big decision to choose those who she loves and who love her over the substance she had relied on for a long time.
I adore Dope at Letterman though. I love the album production but I feel like it would have suited the classic Rubin guitars and drums than it would the Yeezus synths with the organ thrown in. But it works, like Swine and Mary Jane Holland do, when you think about what the song is really trying to convey to the listener.

Yeah and Gaga said she wanted to do a rock oriented album with him, or maybe it was an unplugged style album, I forget. She said it on Howard Stern in 2013.

I feel like I'm in the minority for not wanting a heavily vocal/ballad-driven album. It could help her PR, but it would be pretty boring. I think she's best when she stays within the Pop stratosphere as far as studio albums go.
DWUW was a good start, I would die if she released something like Kylie's Put Yourself In My Place, really her whole '94 self-titled album.

And Glen Ballard, who co-wrote most of Jagged Little Pill with Alanis. Perfect collaborators for Gaga right now in my opinion. And I'd like Bruno and Adele features (and in my dreams, Stevie Nicks - an Adele, Gaga, Stevie Nicks three way collaboration would render me incapacitated for the next three decades at least).
