See How Ariana Grande's Feminist Essay Echoes What Christina Aguilera Said During Her Stripped Days
Ariana Grande is following in Christina Aguilera's feminist footsteps!
Over the weekend, the 21-year-old "Problem" singer shared an empowering essay showing her support for female rights and girl power.
"Being ‘empowered'… is not the same as being a ‘bitch'…" Grande wrote. "HAVING SOMETHING TO SAY… is not the same as HAVING A BAD ATTITUDE. What I meant when I said what I said about not being Sean's ex is that I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man's past, present, or future PROPERTY / POSSESSION. I… do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you."
She added, "If a woman has a lot of sex (or any sex for that matter)… she's a ‘****.' If a man has sex…. HE'S. A. STUD. A BOSSSSSS. a KING… If a woman even TALKS about sex openly… she is shamed! But if a man talks or RAPS freely about all the women (or more commonly used 'bitches'/'hoes'…how lovely) he's had…he is regaled."
Grande's point of view may sound familiar to Christina Aguilera fans who've been by her side since her raunchy Stripped days. First off, Grande's point about double standard almost exactly echoes the lyrics of Xtina's hit song "Can't Hold Us Down."
"If you look back in history/ It's a common double standard of society," Aguilera sings. "The guy gets all the glory the more he can score/ While the girl can do the same and yet you call her a *****/ I don't understand why it's okay/ The guy can get away with it & the girl gets named."
Aguilera also said of the song back in 2002, "This is directed to any male who puts down a female for stating her mind. This is definitely to make women feel empowered to do and say what they want to."
Years later, Aguilera told Maxim of double standards in the music industry, "Well, imagine if a woman released an album with the word sex in it, like Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds. Instead of feeling liberated by it, she'd be labeled and called names. That's not to say I wouldn't do it."
Christina Aguilera is taking another break from The Voice for Season 9 and BuzzFeed News can exclusively reveal that in her place, Season 7 coach Gwen Stefani will return, joining Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams. The upcoming ninth season will premiere on NBC this fall. Carson Daly will also be back to host.
Christina Aguilera Will Return To “The Voice” For Season 10 (EXCLUSIVE)
Christina Aguilera is 100 percent returning to “The Voice” for season 10, Gossip Cop has exclusively learned. After it was announced on Wednesday that Gwen Stefani was rejoining the singing competition show for season 9, rumors online began to spread about Aguilera and her future involvement with the show. A rep for Aguilera tells Gossip Cop that the singer “doesn’t do back-to-back seasons,” but wouldn’t comment beyond that. Still, a “Voice” insider assures Gossip Cop that Aguilera is “confirmed” to return for season 10.
This pretty much confirms siX is coming this year during Fall, get hyped my fellow #UnbreakableFlowers
It also confirms Legend will not be touring until Bionic is certified platinum.
It does look like there won't be a tour for this album either. She is doing the spring season and won't have time to plan or rehearse for a summer tour. Waiting until fall next year for a tour? I don't see it happening. I just love stanning for a reality competition show coach. How about you?

I think she'll headline a couple of festivals, but yeah a tour is pretty much off the cards thanks to The Banjo.
I honestly don't understand why she won't just do a big budget ballroom tour. 7 straight nights...
Record it on Blu Ray. And release it to keep fans at least half happy. Cause she honestly isn't touring again.
The amazing visuals, theatrics, live-arrangements all would be orgasm worthy. X is one of the most talented and visually inclined artist of her peers, but her laziness keeps her over looked and forgotten half the time.
I cannot believe someone of her caliber has not toured since 2007 & it doesn't look like she'll bother next year either. It's honestly ridiculous. I am not here for it.

Goodbye.

We will deal, at least she still can sing.
For Russian billionaires, but still.
The fact that she will travel all around the world to perform concerts for rich folks, yet she won't even do it for her real fans. I'm beginning to think that she blames us for her last 2 albums flopping and for not being able to win The Voice.
