I agree Taylor doesn't need hits to sell a lot but 3 of these singles sold over 2 million, they are definitely hits.

I mean, we can slice and dice it and analyze everything from surprise releases to country fanbase backing, but the big idea is.

-Some artists don't need singles to sell albums
-Some artists do need singles to sell albums
-Some artists won't sell albums regardless of singles

But overall, singles success is necessary for an artists long term career cause while it can sell albums, it also sells tour tickets, and buys exposure at a low price.

4 was coming off IASF hence it did as much as it did, and ST sold as much as it did because of the surprise and media hype. There's a reason the woman doesn't have a 5M+ selling album this decade like the other girls.

They were released in 2010-2011 during the peak of digital sales. 2 million wasn't much back then. They were moderate hits at best.
