I was watching something and someone said they feel like Ben Carson is only running to boost his profile. Honestly, that's what most of them on the right need to be doing because most of them have no chance. I feel like Carly should REALLY take this publicity and flip it. She could become a star on the GOP side.

I was watching the Young Turks and Cenk made a really interesting point.

Since the beginning of his campaign, Rand has set the scene as 'Rand vs. Everybody'. He's been attacking Hillary but he's also been attacking the GOP. And now with the Patriot Act, most Republicans are for it and he isn't. He's keeping his name out there and branding himself as a 'different' Republican. I'm sticking to what I said when he first announced, I think he has a GREAT chance at getting the nomination.

Giselle, Rand has zero chance of getting the nomination. Zero. Z.E.R.O. You can bookmark me on that.

1. A 'different' Republican will have little impact on the nomination process, they're all branding themselves as 'different'.
2. The Establishment hates him as does now the Tea Party where he 'allegedly' came from.
3. Walker and Rubio have the poll #'s, Walker has the Koch brothers, and Jeb has the establishment.
4. Libertarians (which Rand pretends to be but isn't) have little to no power over the base despite their hype in the press.

Rand's poll numbers may edge up, but he's not getting the nomination. Not until hell freezes over.

The saddest thing about the Republican candidates is that, out of their Top 3 "best" (most competent), Rick Perry and Rand Paul make up two of those spots

You don't announce the VP until you actually have a candidate. You want someone to balance the presidential candidate out. Think about Mittens & Paul Ryan last election. Mitt was viewed as too moderate by many Republicans, and therefore needed to be balanced with a far-right whack job. Even Obama and Biden have this to a lesser degree.

The only decent candidate between the two establishment parties is Rand Paul, but I still can't vote for him, as he has intentionally sabotaged Libertarian Candidates' Campaigns to encourage voters to vote for Republicans who have no interest in Liberty and Freedom. This was after he made the speech at CPAC in 2014 saying electing candidates who support Liberty and Freedom is more important than electing Republicans. And he was paid by Karl Rove to do this, the same man who spent a million plus dollars to try and unseat one of Rand's best friends in the US House, Justin Amash. Justin Amash and Thomas Massie are the only two Republicans I could ever vote for in a Presidential election, and they'll never run for POTUS.

The USA Freedom Act simply transferred the collection of Metadata to private companies from which the NSA will get the data any time they want it. This was a bait and switch trick piece of legislation with a deceptive title simply to keep NSA spying going while assuring they could not violate the court order. That's why Justin Amash and Thomas Massie refused to sign it. and Rand Paul stalled the bill as long as possible Sunday night. We're no better off than we were with the other bill. Don't believe the BS the mainstream media (MSM) tells you. That's why I've gone back to grad school to become a journalist, so there are people out there who will actually tell the truth to Americans!

Rick Perry refused to put a stay on a man's execution in Texas even after DNA evidence had proven the convicted man had not only not committed that crime, but had convicted no crimes at all. The Prosecution in the case was just censured for withholding evidence proving the man's innocence. The Assistant D.A. has since retired, so losing his law license really doesn't punish him much. There needs to be stronger action taken against the Prosecutor and probably Perry for what happened in this case.

As as much flack that Paul has been getting from the right for his libertarian views on war/NSA/etc, I could see myself supporting him.
