So this is what TT was talking about. Euphorian's #1 is probably between 1-2 whole points higher than mine.

I love that part! The story of King Midas is that he used his power of turning things to gold for selfish purposes and then he accidentally touches his daughter and she turns to gold i.e. is dead. The man Ryn is singing about is like King Midas: "the ones he loves / he turns to stone" I also like how she sort of conflates Midas and Medusa with the "stone" word choice.

Water is a really common theme, it's a coincidence. Plus Tidal Wave didn't do incredibly well in that picture round even though I gave it a 10 (forgot who wrote it)

It actually wasn't but oh well. The concept just came to mind and I wasn't even sure I was gonna use it, I kinda put it on the back-burner as I was considering writing a rap song and I felt like it could come across as too similar to "Sail On" by Ryn Weaver (as pointed out by fefe). But by the time I got around to actually writing my song I figured I could make something interesting with it so I just ran with it. And then I realised Heartwater was also about water imagery but really the song are nothing alike.

I do understand the reference. And yeah, it's definitely a highlight of the song... but it doesn't really fit the sail imagery that the rest of the song is going for.

What do you think of her EP? For me, it's:
OctaHate > Sail On > Stay Low > Promises

But I like all the songs. I've listened to The Fool once and I liked it but I'm really trying to save all of the non-EP songs for when the album drops.
