That is when I dropped tracking the hot 100. All the artists now are concentrating as hard as they can to have a viral video instead of following their own aesthetic. They have like 3 videos of their songs on it, they keep promoting it, certain ones post playlists of their MVs for stans to watch  Also the stans keep repeating views just to help their faves go higher on charts.

idk though like I can see it with viral videos like wrecking ball and anaconda but i guess i can't understand why roar, dark horse, shake it off, and blank space have like almost a billion views. there is also nothing viral about them. like they are big hits and are good music videos but where were these hundreds of millions of people three and a half years ago
