It looks very good indeed for Latvia, but I don't think it can win.
To me, the draw indicates that Norway did so-so in the semi which is why they felt confident enough to put Sweden after it. Sweden starts the string of male performers, which could benefit us more than it does Australia or Belgium (who'll be the 3rd and 4th guy in a row).
Wait you are right actually that might be good for Sweden. However I'd still prefer if he was performing before and after a few ballads.
I think Russia is winning this... I can't decide whether they wanted to help them or screw them over with that draw; the latter means EBU don't want them to win (I think it could be terrible for the contest) and that means they probably won't.
I'd also like to note I predicted Sweden at ten, the Greece/Montenegro and the Azerbaijan/Georgia pairings (but flippted) and that Latvia/Spain/Romania would be a cluster

As already noted, it's quite a different case. This year we have a ton of slow songs in a row, which could kill its chances. Also, the situation with Russia is far worse now than it was in 2008. Eurovision isn't supposed to be political, but Russia winning could potentially be a disaster.
