Welcome to the land of Florence + the Machine.
My recommendations are definitely "Rabbit Heart", "Drumming Song", "Howl", "Strangeness and Charm", "No Light, No Light", and the very newest "Delilah" (edit: and "As Far As I Could Get")

You said that they weren't honest with the audience about her thoughts, feelings, emotions, and such, that's just a blatant lie. I think I get what you were trying to say or do (speak highly of what is new), but I was disappointed to see such a backstab of her other two flawless albums. That's all

I don't see how johnmcnell calls the other albums dishonest in any way - and his statements about the previous albums are based on Florence's own words over time. She said multiple times that Lungs was a scrapbook of songs written at many different times in her life, which is why she wanted more cohesiveness in Ceremonials. In interviews lately she has said this new one is the one in which she finally felt able to truly expose herself, to make herself vulnerable. One of the reasons Ceremonials ended up with a lower overall critical score than Lungs is that a lot of critics felt it hid its emotions behind metaphor and simile.

I'm so bitter As Far As I Could Get didn't make it to the record!!! With a little fine tuning it'd honestly have been one of the standouts.
Hoping so hard for a B-Side tbh.

i don't think he meant it, but he literally said in the article: "unlike her first two albums, she is no longer dishonest with her audience." i just wanted to clarify that they are very genuine, even if metaphor full.
and honestly, i really don't see how HBHBHB is "more vulnerable" or "more honest" or "more personal." and that's not a bad thing--all three albums are vulnerable, honest, and personal! i just don't get why she keeps saying HBHBHB is so personal to her and the lyrics are more direct, when they're really no less deep and metaphor-filled than the last two. i just don't see it.
EDIT: and again, i'm complimenting florence. she manages to write these profound, ambiguous and poetic lyrics that are somehow still relatable, honest, genuine, and personal. it's amazing, really

Woops! I didn't mean that Florence is lying by using metaphors at all. I probably should've said "more blatent" instead. In no way do I think I backstabbed her other two albums though. I fell in love with both so I am going to have to disagree when you say I am putting the other two down when I don't think I was. With respect to this album being more vulnerable, I think it holds true because by turning a feeling into a fantasy by using metaphors, you're putting a mask on a real situation. These new songs don't do that. We don't have to imagine the situations Florence was in like we did with the other two albums, because she pretty much says it straight out. That exposes those moments from Florence's head to the public, I think. To me, that's what I think is more "honest". Don't get me wrong, metaphorical and poetic lyrics are what make me love FATM.

Yeah, I figured that's what you meant, I just wanted to double check! And I get what you're saying, but I still don't see that much of a difference between, let's say, Ceremonials and HBHBHB. NLNL is just as personal as Delilah, BD and LTL are just as personal as other songs, and TE is just as personal as SIO or DD. idk, I just don't see that much of a shift. Again, not a bad thing. Her writing is amazing.
