I love the new MV. It exceeded my expectations. I like the remix better than the original, but the original is one of my least faves from the album. I loved that she blew up London in that final scene with all the fire. I also think she was parodying the fictional media stories that have claimed she was feuding with Selena for the last 18 months or so.

Joseph Kahn delivered some amazing imagery and some iconic gif worthy footage.Amazing to see 1989 going back to no 1 in UK iTunes (and elsewhere). Awesome impact here in this era.

Great to see Taylor win another 8 BBMAs. That puts her on 20 BBMAs, the most out of ANY artist! She overtook Garth Brooks on 19 awards! Note that the Billboard Women of the Year Award is not counted as a BBMA, it is a seperate thing that Billboard do and is not based on sales/airplay metrics like the BBMAs.

Taylor physically moved to NYC in March/April 2014, was it? But she obviously would have made the decision to move there months before. Also the process of finding a property must have taken a while, and then once the purchase was agreed, she would probably need some time for Magneto to move out. So there would have been months between deciding to move to New York and actually officially moving in and WTNY was obviously penned during that period.

Taylor obviously lived in NYC before she moved in to her apartment. She would have likely stayed in a hotel or rented somewhere while house hunting there. So she could have easily written about living in NYC before moving into Gandalf's.

"It's a big theme in patriarchal media that men can sit on their asses and look tough doing nothing and get loads of recognition while women work their asses off in the background and get no recognition at all."
