ddd I actually do still remember how genuinely pressed I was @ Firework being a single as it was one of my least favourite album tracks at the time and when I saw the single cover I was horrified because she looked so ridiculous and I was convinced she was gonna flop so hard.
Then it ended up becoming her signature song for a hot minute until Roar dethroned it.
I still consider Roar her signature song, btw. Sure, locally Dark Horse was bigger, but that's kinda got its own thing going for it, I don't think of "Dark Horse" when I think of Katy Perry. Roar is a much more personal song and deserving of being her signature.
