All of that combined with the fact that we have no news about the album at this point seems to indicate that they're waiting until closer to the album release to start building the momentum (that is if she cares about this era lol)

I expect Rih to kick the promo into high gear 2 weeks before the album drops and I also think we'll get another single before then and THAT will be the one they use to push the promo campaign.

Again, I think this 'strategy' is terribly misguided. When you launch an era/album it's important to keep the momentum going but the silence and lack of promo is only hurting the momentum of this era. I just hope that they can find a way to generate enough buzz before the album drops.

Well Rihanna's previous bodies of work (bar Rated R) weren't strong enough to survive this type of Rollout. I think she feels this album is strong enough in content that it will still do well.

You can tell that this album is one of her best in RIhanna's opinion because she's given nothing but music and not a lot of detail unlike her previous era's where she'd describe songs before we even heard them.

I love the music so far, I just don't like the silence. When you're offering your fans something different then your previous work, it helps to give them insight into the creative process. The fan interaction has been almost nonexistent this era and that only hurts an artist of Rihanna's caliber

I think she will have her second Number One album with R8 since the Summer is usually dry when it comes to huge releases and sales can spike high for big artists who release.

i think if you've grown up in an urban setting you've probably seen posters such as these i remember seeing them for rap and r&b artists growing up. but they were always promoting the album not a random single i would actually appreciate these if they were like "ALBUM TITLE. RELEASE DATE" and not just single covers but that's Rih for you

As I see it, Rihanna has been slowing weaning us off her usual tactics (social media, dying hair at the start of an era, Huge promo, Releasing in the fall) The change seems so immediate but she's been changing up her usual tactics little by little since Loud.

I mean the interview she did recently gave me some hope about the direction, I have the music which is all I care about anyway.

I atually think it would be pretty cool if she revealed the album title/Name by plastering posters across neighborhoods. She could call on the Navy to go out and find the posters and post a pic with a hastag like #'AlbumName'Reveal or #'Rihanna'AlbumName'
