Copyrighting a full song is a waste of your time and money. Unless its part of an entity that has money you need to protect and can lose money out of if others use your entity's likeness.
All your ownership rights should be protected if you register the song under BMI/ASCAP/SESAC because if someone were to try and use it for money (and in the US in order to make royalties off a song, you need to register it) you'd have proof by having it be in their database. If they go ahead and DO still try to sell it themselves via their own website or w/e, then they're just burying themselves in a hole cuz you could go after them so easily.
You don't need to hire an Ent. Lawyer, just have them buy into your stake by giving them a percentage of your profits (low amount, just to have him/her feel a part of you and want to work for you) in a contract for like 3-5 years. Cuz if you just flat out pay for a lawyer its a waste of money if you don't actually already have something established. If you do then yeah, you need one.
