Because there was nothing to correct there. Elvis music combines elements from black as well as white genres. He used rhythm and blues and combined it with bluegrass and country to give it rockability and there is no way anybody who has heard his records at all can deny this. Celine Dion does this too, she demands 20% of the publishing if she sings your song, altho she doesn't put her name in the writing credits
