Very interesting video of the major 4 companies in Korea (Starship is not one of them...oops)
The two comment I found interesting was how excited they were getting about YG putting a group together based on looks saying it would take YG to new heights in the k-pop scene and how it took Yeri to take Red Velvet next level because the 4 girls couldn't do it on their own.
Can't believe people dared to compare them Crayon Pop
BBB is the textbook definition of a novelty song.
EXID may have gotten popular for the odd reasons (sexy member fancam) but the song is clearly...actually good and catchy. Plus the members possess talent.

Yeri literally added NOTHING to Red Velvet She sings two lines and doesn't even sing them live even though they're easy as ****
Queen Yeri adds youth & beauty to the group along with a pedophile fanbase
Fume a bit
She's pretty, I give her that and I do like her as part of Red Velvet (i'm not against member additions if its soon after debut), but to say Red Velvet's current success is due to her is the most unreasonable thing I've ever heard.

I generally agree with you, in that I feel like Red Velvet would have had the same album, video, and general concept whether Yeri was there or not. She doesn't influence anything in that regard. I also feel like Red Velvet would have generally had similar success to what they're having now, since they're an SM group. They were obviously going to get bigger as they released more stuff.
The only thing I can think of that Yeri brought to the table in terms of Red Velvet's current status would be the increased profile Red Velvet received when Yeri was first revealed. Not necessarily for Yeri herself, but the blogs/media being like "oh wow SM just randomly added a member to an existing group". Although small, her addition definitely created more buzz for them because no one really knew why SM decided to do it. But I feel like that's where it ends in terms of Yeri bringing anything to the group or their success.

I agree with Khamjong, I really wish they didn't add Yeri as she brings the talent average down several notches single-handedly given that she has very comfortably snatched the worst female vocalist in SM crown.
edit: Also, I'm very happy to see EXID happening, I think they're a very positive addition to this generation of girl groups. Solji and LE are amazing and Hani is quite talented for a visual.
