Rih's album sales will be fine as long as she promotes the album and releases it normally. I also don't feel like the era has started until she treats these songs accordingly, I refuse to consider them lead singles

I did not go to the effort of making this gif for R8 to flop
Yall better be buying 5 or 6 copies when R8 lands and changing your facebook cover photos, playing the CD in your car with friends, requesting the songs at clubs etc (cuz rihanna sure wont be )

Why do people think R8 will flop? I don't feel that way at all. Her star power is bigger than ever and so is the musical acclaim. That's what I meant with my comment before- if R8 doesn't do well the sole blame is on Rih and nothing/no one else. At this moment in time, I'm not worried.

Billboard 's Lipshutz gave the song three out of five stars and wrote that although the song is not a right successor to Rihanna's previous...

Folks, this song isn't that good. It'll still ring off this weekend but I hope she's got another one in the chamber. At best, it's a lukewarm fourth single.
Im still pulling that she releases a new single at the end of the month. A POP smash thats gonna really have that "Rihanna" hit appeal. But If the BBHMM is not released this week Im over it. If the BBHMM isn't out by the 21st id be content with her pushing back the album until June because this rollout is a mess. I still have faith in her and the album I just don't see it working out in her favor. She should have never released a single in January. She should have used the Grammys for a HOME single (if she wanted to perform THAT bad). But I know why she did it it was just to promote the tour (but the tour might not happen so it didnt pan out for her).
I really hope she promotes the hell out of this project because she's kinda killed her hype. She has to reboot and rebuild.
You guys just need to accept it.
This is the (musical) direction she's going in
This is the album roll out she's doing
This is the promo she's doing (expecting LOUD promo is kinda delusional lbr)
Once you just accept these things, it's not so bad. Saves from a lot of disappointment as well.
I will say that I have been watching the Jimmy Kimmel interview a couple times and it kills me that she doesn't do it often. She's so down to earth, witty and funny, and chill. Serving personality. It's fun seeing that side of her.
@Humanity FFS literally stayed in the iTunes top 10 for months, and most of the songs that joined it are also out of the top 10. did you expect it to stay there forever? did you expect a song like that to go top ten on pop?
some of the complaints in here simply don't make sense. realistic expectations >
