The Vevo add so it counts for streaming.
Until Rih says its a single it isn't one, why get your mind worked up over it.

I know lol, I just wish the Tidal exclusive was another song, AO is too big to be paid dust. But again, I trust Rih so let's see what's planned.

AO is not a single, it's an exclusive for Tidal and in the same time it promotes a little the album.
You'll get it in iTunes when the album comes out as an album track. The video won't be on VEVO, just deal with it.
The first single is FFS and the actual one is the amazing BBHMM, there is no confusion.

But how do you explain that AO will be available somewhere else than Tidal in 1 week (as RDaily said)? Album pre-order in 1 week? Album release in 1 week?

Now that I think about it, i don't think AO was ever entended to be a single...at least not anytime soon. The fact that they chose not to release the song when it was being heavily promoted during March Madness....the fact that they shot the video before FFS and chose to releasse FFS instead, the fact that they chose not to release the song prior to the march madness festival, the fact that they released both the song and video 2 days apart (Rih has never done that correct?) as a Tidal exclusive. None of that seems logical for a single release....not to mentin, the song is 5:20 seconds which is longer than any single Rihanna has ever released, even tho it would get a radio edit

BBHMM is the second single.
It's just that she's not treating it like it.

I don't care if AO isn't a single, but that video needs to be widely available

Rihanna And The Radical Power Of “Carefree Black Girl” Celebrity
Quote:
|
RiRi crafts notably rebellious black female self-determination in this spirit, eschewing propriety in favor of a carefree, self-indulgent womanhood not contingent on respectability. She demands authority over her own body, narrative, and career.
|
Quote:
|
If Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj are two meticulously constructed, divergent brands of black womanhood, then Rihanna is the renegade blurring of the lines between them. Beyoncé is a poised, almost mechanical demigoddess; Nicki is an ineffable, ferocious femme fatale. Rihanna exists in the sharp gray areas between them, carving a space all her own.

|
But Rihanna doesn’t beg pardon for her body; she claps back. She responded to Celebuzz the same day with this nail-polish-emoji-worthy retort: “your ***** is way too dry to be riding my dick like this,” a clever weaponizing of the same sexuality Celebuzz attempted to shame her for. Rihanna boldly insists that her body is her own.

Quote:
|
Everything she does raises the question “can I live?”— and simultaneously lets you know she decided a long time ago the only acceptable answer is yes. This is Rihanna’s world, and you better believe she calls the shots.

No idea why, but I've been listening to her old music a lot recently.
Pon De Replay, SOS, Don't Stop The Music, Shut Up And Drive, Unfaithful, Take A Bow.
I'm seriously tempted to buy her first albums. Are they worth it?

Rih really is unique and iconic in pop culture. People may not want to give her credit for her achievements but she made her mark and has a legacy.

If anyone cares the director gave an interview about AO video
Quote:
The video has an underlying message of political and social justice, was this a collaborative concept or simply an ode to the lyrics of the song?
Definitely collaborative. Rihanna really wanted to make people think with this one, and really wanted to make sure it wasn’t too focused on just the positive or just the negative. In the edit, it was all about finding the right balance of historical footage, positive and negative, that would work to juxtapose the two sides of American history. There’s glory in the struggle, there are ups and downs, and all of that is what makes America what it is. We wanted to find the right balance that pulled the viewer into different emotions and feelings about what they were watching.
We worked with Rihanna to show America from varying perspectives: along with including classic apple pie Americans, we also wanted to show those desperately trying to get here, the disenfranchised, the persecuted, those struggling against all odds to attain change, those who fought to make america what it is and the kids who hold America's future in their hands.

Slay my lil label puppet
@TheTruthIsSexy if you really do want to buy any of I would recommend MOTS. Rih's voice is very nasally on both but as a whole I think MOTS is a better album than AGLM.
