Blackout was trend-chasing but it contained progressive elements, such as the dubstep-influence on Freakshow. Synth-pop songs like Heaven on Earth were heavily 80s influenced but so were songs from Kylie around the same time (both also worked with Bloodshy & Avant in 2006-07). I'm glad she repeatedly collaborated with Pharrell cause his sound has proven to be timeless. WSIBS, $lave 4 U & Boys still sound somewhat fresh today.
