This new single is really exciting because it is MEANT to be a transitional single. It's not like the last 3 years when us lambs were again and again led to hyperventilate about a single that disappointed/flopped/was underpromoted (or everything at once) - this time we know the single is part of a minor era. Of course we want it to succeed but we know te real deal will follow later.
I enjoy this situation and I believe that Mariah and her team might also benefit from it because it takes some pressure from them.

I think it's important for us to manage our expectations. I think this era is meant to repair a lot of the damage caused from the last era. That being said, this album is meant to coincide with the residency, as you stated, something to have on the shelves in the Vegas store. I think they arent going to completely leave the project to chance because if it flops, it tarnishes a lot of the work they've put into repairing her image. They're going to invest in it moderately, especially since it is her first project on the label. I think she'll be working on a new studio album at the same time though. With only three shows per week, she has some flexibility.

I read somewhere that the Emancipation sold 12 M worlwide
Ditch those judgemental b**ches and join the Lambss
I need too I usually don't like R&B at all but I LOVE MC. It would take me a while to fully join the lambs because I would have to listen to and remember all of her albums

That doesn't take long sis. I listened to her whole discography bar some of Rainbow on her anniversary a few days ago. And it's perfect timing: the discography rate is starting up like next week, so you can rate the songs as you listen!

I've already listened through Mariah Carey (VANISHING??? LIKE MY SOUL HAS BEEN DESTROYED), Daydream, The Emancipation and Elusive Chanteuse as well as #1s. That's just 10 albums left
Honestly, i dont want any announcements until everything is done. Including the music video. I'm expecting within the next two weeks though.
Shes been in the press every day for the last few days. Mostly positive too. They're definitely revving up the engine.
I completely agree. I want a mid-April release with a radio deal for Pop, Hot AC, Rhythmic, and Urban. The music video should come out a week afterwards. She also should promote it to several shows including Ellen, The Late Show, SNL, Today Show, all before the Vegas residency.

Well of course we'd all want that SNL though! I can't see that happening. And I think she should only do live perfs if she's ready to sing (mostly) live. If she's not, I'd prefer finding other ways to promote and not doing lipped and/or rough performances.

Some of these numbers are a bit off.
Emotions should be at 9million
MTV Unplugged is missing from the list. That sold 7 million worldwide.
Number 1's is around 15.5 million
Rainbow should be 9 million
Emancipation of Mimi is at 12 million
