I still can't believe how absolutely wrong G.U.Y. was done.

Like...I don't think I'll
ever get over the fact that it got but one televised performance (on an older adult oriented late show for that matter) and that all the promotional funds likely went to the G.U.Y. Hotel idea. It's not that there were no promo spots available (Dancing with the Stars, MTV Movie Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, BBMA's (with a satellite feed), American Idol, etc.), so...I don't know what it was. But it's so wrong. Sure, she had so, so much going against her at that time, but I think with consistent promo, it would have done at least as well as Marry the Night, which isn't actually that bad in the grande scheme of things, and most definitely beats one week on the chart at #76 no matter how you look at it.
But hey, I still love the song and we got an absolutely killer video to go with it, so I guess I can't complain
that much. It just hurts to see it done so, so terribly wrong.

I remember when we even had hope that it would breathe life back into the era. Little did we know it was actually a closing to it.
