Madonna is an important musician and celebrity. Some of yall can't seem to understand that there was no solo female star with a dynamic aesthetic and no one pushed the envelope like M. Period. Still she remains unmatched.

Madonna's singles from her first album (which weren't even big hits) are actual dancepop classics. The recurrent radio airplay internationally for those songs is probably bigger than alot of the past hits of the faves on here.

I hate MJ, and actually prefer MaDEATH to him, but she is in no way more respected than him and will never be. Something he has over her is that he's respected by both genders (Madonna's barely respected by either one, all of her 'respect' comes from gays), he's respected by people who don't care about pop music as to where Madonna's only respected by pop fans, and he's respected by people of all races. She's slightly respected by white people, and like I said, South Americans.
MJ obviously slays Madonna. People still listen to his music. Almost every male artist is an MJ clone. Madonna doesn't even have a distinct anything that can make you think someone is copying her except maybe her conical bra.
