That's the thing though. Britney has performed 5 times at the VMAs, 4 our of 5 of those performances are undoubtedly iconic. Britney's not in the same place she was back then where she does really edgy things. Even if the performance was good, if it wasn't instantly iconic, I think it'd be seen as bad. She's fine performing at other award shows, but her reputation is way too high at the VMAs. People watch her more closely when she performs there.

Exactly. People know by now that she's not the performer she once was. So as long as she performs a good little performance at the AMAs, BMAs, etc, she'll be fine. But the minute it's rumored or announced she's performing at the VMAs, people instantly think of her old performances (2000, 2001/2003) and start speculating what she's gonna do, if it's gonna be another 2007, etc. Too much pressure. And we know current Britney can't deal with pressure like that lbr.

While I agree i also think that if she planned something huge to do as a performance it could be seen as her VMA comeback. Im not saying i disagree but if britney is doing so well in era 9 and she thinks of some crazy edgy sick performance to do at the VMAS i say do it.
ALSO REMEMBER! Piece of Me is a 1.5~ hour show so she constantly is trying to conserve energy so she doesn't Konk out half way through. If all she has to do is one song for 5 minutes on TV that means she can put her everything into those five minutes and become 10x better than any piece of me performance.
BBMA's is perfect one to perform at, tho. It's right around the time we expect a single + they'll allow her to lip synch and it seems like a lot less pressure than something like the VMA's or Grammy's etc.
She could also do the MTV Movie Awards in the summer.

IM GETTING GREEDY I JUST WANNA SEE HER ON MY TV. But yea true so at least one performance of the single with iggy would be great. Iheart Radio is close so thats perfect and iggy is nominated so she's definitely going.
If she & Justin could put their differences aside long enough to perform together at the VMAs, nothing else would matter. It would end careers, crash the internet, be instantly iconic, etc.
Army shouldn't really care about success at this point tbh. I think she's kinda over when it comes to single sales and album sales. But who knows, she could prove me wrong.
Anyways yeah, nobody should jump ship (like how they did with BJ) or get mad/disappointed if B9 flops. Just hope for good music and hopefully good performances.

Its like im back in 2008 before she dropped circus everyone was expecting mtvs and other performamce and no nothing happened..then we go to ff when we hoped for amas mtvs bbs and we got nothing then we go to bj when we got nothing at all..and then we r here and the army stil expects bb ellen and much more...so yeah its not like im telling u what to do.its more like a friendly advice

??? circus had worldwide promo though.. she performed on GMA and all around the world. She still looked hot and did late night interviews. She had a number 1 hit and great music videos. Thats all we want!!! FF is another story...
