No, woman are just less inclined to release songs with an old school feel. (60s, 70s)
All the formats can eat old school radio all they want because back in the day there were no formats
It may be because I (and the radio) is overplaying Uptown Funk, but I actually prefer Happy and Blurred Lines to it, especially Happy.
If it comes to overplaying songs, radio did the same with BL & Happy. Radio always over plays huge hits, thank god that I don't listen to Radio that much.

I'll be interested to see how UF! ages for me. Happy aged much better than BL to be honest.

Wonder why? Like I can see Beyonce killing an upbeat Funk song especially with the dancing and everything else, but she's always doing Urban/ R&B stuff.

She's one of the few female artists who has had a huge multiformat smash with Irreplaceable. I think she could do it again if she puts out the right song

Not really. Calvin's songs (being dance/EDM) are huge on streaming and poor sellers at the same time.
He has some good sellers anyway (Summer, I Need Your Love etc.)

What about Blow? She was going to release it as her first single but some pop DJs said they wouldn't play it or something so she released XO instead... Typicial really. I think she should've released Blow anyway, I think it would've still been a hit.
