Azealia Banks is a vile shrew who really SERIOUSLY needs professional help for her insanity problem but a bitch makes sick music! For real I have always loved AB's music no matter how disgusting she is as a person. But anyway let's get into this slay. I DON'T see all the rage over the first four tracks which are kind boring to me but the album really heats up after that. I slept on "Heavy Metal and Reflective" until the album dropped and DAMN it's a hot urban bop, which Banks' hadn't really served until now. I've always loved "BBD" which sounds just as great on the album but "Ice Princess" really takes the cake. I kinda hate the chorus but WOO when that violin comes in on the second verse you KNOW this **** is menacing and I dare you not to be scalpT. "Nude Beach" is ****ing NUTS and completely crack, I would buy a whole album of this ****! Like what in the hell? Who does this? I cannot. My personal fave on the album would probably have to be "Miss Amor" however, the production is out of this world I...I...I... am slain every time. I don't appreciate "Luxury" and "212" appearing after literally like three years but I'm just happy she finally decided to drop this! and I liked the Beyoncé release, it was cute and made for a nice surprise. Here I thought we wouldn't get a body of music for years and she's #3 on my countdown! Looking forward to more MUSIC in the future from pretty AB.
The Essential Tracks: "Heavy Metal and Reflective", "BBD", "Ice Princess", "Nude Beach A-Go-Go", "Miss Amor"
Ok flawless bop good lord! Definitely THE catchiest pop single of the year and one of the best produced at that. And it never gets old! I will listen to this song until the day I die I swear on it. And that music video! Gorgeous. "Blank Space" is the best song of Taylor's career and she needs to serve a whole album of them next time and I will stan down. This holy hymn deserves all of the success it received, hell it deserved even more. Thank you, Taylord.
"The Worst" is such an emotional song, I can't imagine listening to it and not having SOME kind of reaction to it. It's so easy to empathize with the lyrics as Jhené **** talks her ex-lover, especially if you've been in a similar relationship. The production is heavy but roomy, and the whole essence of the song is completely enrapturing. She sounds flawless as ever on the track as well. I'm SO glad that this song but her on the map. Oddly enough they didn't put this on her album (it's from her debut EP) and without it the album is kind of missing a shining moment, even though it's still great. I can't wait for more music to come from this girl, hopefully in 2015.
Say what you want about Iggy now that everyone is dick-riding her hate bandwagon, but there's no denying that this was THAT bop when it was blowing up and then eventually ruled the charts for multiple weeks. I've been with Iggy since the beginning so it was insane watching her go from struggling to make it, multiple failed singles, probably near the end of her rope, to one of the biggest singles of 2014. Iggy is SERVING swagger on the track and of course Charli DELIVERS that chorus which takes the song to the next level. Let's not forget the iconic video either which was one of the best of the year. God bless, it's Iggy SZN.
Ok Country Queen is SO beautiful #1 and her personality is amazing! And that translates into her gay anthem "Follow Your Arrow". Kacey her ability to write amazing music not only has me stanning but also the Grammys and other awards where she has been slaying it lately. This bop has flawless chorus and I can't wait to see what my sis is going to do next.
Tinashe was really a trend setter with this one, now everyone is trying it with a DJ Mustard or similar sounding production and rap guest but that's none of my business. All I know is that this was the original and isn't being beat, and probably Mustard's best production this year. One of the top new-wave R&B singles of the year. Also if you haven't already, make sure you check that TOKIMONSTA remix which is just as much a slay as this is.
I've been with Nicki since 2009, but one of my biggest struggles I've had with her is that she hadn't put out a truly GREAT album. 'Pink Friday' didn't bring enough swagger, and was too bland and safe to be phenomenal. 'Roman Reloaded' was an event in itself, and while I do enjoy most of the tracks from that album it was obviously beyond messy and didn't work at all as one piece of work. I couldn't get up much hope from the songs released prior to the album, either - "Pills N Potions" is an odd but ultimately boring pop ballad, "Anaconda" is a knock but completely dumb and shows no talent, and "Bed of Lies" is generic and uneventful. Thankfully, 'The Pinkprint', upon release, was not only obviously Nicki's best piece of work by a mile, but also one of the best albums of the year, especially in its genre. The album begins with a string of slower rap-balladesque tracks, none of which are sleep inducing like "Pills" and "Bed of Lies" that preceded the album. Pop influences span the album to a range of effect - "Get On Your Knees" is an absolute winner and should be a single soon - while the more obvious "The Night Is Still Young" sounds like it was lifted from her last album, yet is even worse than any other straight up pop song she has ever created. The majority of the album is at home in hip-hop thankfully. "Feeling Myself", "Four Door Aventador", and "Want Some More" are the urban bangers we've been waiting for, while the gorgeous "Grand Piano" rounds out the standard album. True to tradition, many of the best songs on the album reside in the deluxe. Nothing on the standard hits as hard as "Shanghai", "Win Again" is a fan favorite, and "Truffle Butter" is so recognizably good that it made itself a single. Overall I'm beyond pleased with this album and I couldn't really have asked for more from my sis. God bless.

To me, in 2014, no artist was more interesting, more easy to get into, or released better music than Tove Lo. After I discovered her I was literally addicted, the album's first single "Habits" was one of my most played songs of the year and 'Queen of the Clouds' was easily my most played. From the burning album opener "My Gun" to the very end of the album (the standard, anyway) I LOVE every track. I've honestly never been one to care about lyrics, usually if a song is catchy and has a nice beat I'll be able to get into it, but Tove has seriously got me into paying attention to lyrics. All of her songs are written so eloquently but at the same time they are so raw. She's also unrivaled when it comes to writing a catchy hook, most of my favorite melodies and song structures came from Tove this year. But anyways, to the music. The aforementioned "My Gun" is simplistic in structure but SO pleasing when it clicks. "Talking Body" is the new single from the album and BETTER smash or I have no faith in humanity. "Got Love" is a sweeping mid tempo with one of the biggest choruses of the year and "Thousand Miles" is a gritty highlight. My only complaint of the album is the awkward deluxe, filled with remixes that don't match the rest of the album and possibly drags it on a little too long. "Crave" is on it however and its one of the best songs on the album so I still recommend checking the full package out. Probably the most exciting aspect of this album is that it's Tove's debut yet still so amazing... I can only imagine what 2015 and the rest of her career have in store. She has so much potential and I can't wait to see it fulfilled. Bow down to your QUEEN and get ready to see more of her next year!
The Essential Tracks: "My Gun", "Talking Body", "Moments", "Got Love", "Habits"
#6 The New Classic
#5 Sucker
#4 My Everything
#3 Broke With Expensive Taste
#2 The Pinkprint
#1 Queen of the Clouds
The whole top 6 slaying
Azealia's release was a little too experimental for me but still alright, could've been a biT lower.
The New Classic My favorite of the set, with The Pinkprint not too far behind it.

BS being so high when only released recently. Taylor's impact.
Fancy + 2 On Maaaaajor bops.
The song is full of so many mysteries. What happened to Mø after the SNL performance? Did Death Jam sacrifice her to the illuminati to keep Iggy's career intact? Where is the damn video? But most importantly, after slaying all year long how did Iggy find SUCH a ****ing hot bop left over to record? Literally the instrumental is one of my favorites of the year. It's so HOT! omg and Iggy is serving SWAG with her verses it's too much. "Hit the stage, ass shakin' like I'm nervous" YASSSS "***** powa, pay me by the hour" SLAY! This song was bound to be iconic but slipped through the cracks apparently. PLEASE serve more of this next year Queen.
Let's just make this extra clear for those in the back- This is the RADIO MIX or whatever and not the original which I don't use. Is this really even a radio mix? or a demo? idk but radio mix is what Ms. Hulkshare said so that's what I'm calling it. First of all idk if the vocals are even different from the original version but Lana sounds SO smooth on this, lord I can't take it heavenly vocals. But most importantly is the simple instrumentation which completely makes the song what it is. It gives me mexican vibes and I'm SO into it. Also when she starts talking spanish stick a fork in me cuz I am FINISHED! >>>>>> Serve this next album please mama leave Ultraviolence sound in 2014.
I'm pretty sure upon the first listen I was slain by the first 5 seconds of this song alone and I'm STILL bopping. The sound is SO fresh and the way the production builds.... please don't ask me about it because I don't have the words to describe it other than pure flawlessness. I don't really care about The Weeknd and he doesn't really add anything by being featured imo but he doesn't detract either so that's fine. Ariana of course sounds like an angel especially over this beat like... ugh. ALSO I was so completely shocked when they chose it as a single! What kind of unexpected choice? Obviously I'm so glad they did though, I was just shocked they went with this when there are way safer songs on her album. Ariana's best song easily, hands down.
I first discovered this song when I heard the hot ass Keys and Crates remix at a rave or something (heavily recommend it, get into it) and I was like frantically searching for it on Soundcloud when I came across this, the original. I was instantly hooked by the chorus and lyrics which where so thought provoking to me and interesting at the time. Tove then became my Queen and then this song about drugs became a huge hit around the World, I think. I know it was big in America at least. The music video is so cool too. I don't really use that official hippie remix but it's not like terrible or something. I have a feeling this song will be a liddo forgotten by the GP but it will exist in my heart forever.
