Edit: nvm yeah I don't think the vocals were edited in the studio, she sounds gritty and like her voice is going to crack but it doesn't.

A couple of fans and reviews have speculated that absolutely no autotune was used on her vocals. Even the best vocalists (Beyonce, Adele, etc.) still have a sound engineer come in and clean up a singer's vocals to make studio recordings perfect. People are speculating that her vocals on it are completely raw.

FourFiveSeconds is probably one of the best songs Rihanna has ever been apart of and it not only makes me so proud to be a stan, but after so many accusations of being a manufactured pop puppet, she was able to put out something completely derivative from the overproduced noise that mainstream music has become.
