Well you should know that an artist like Kanye would never do the same thing twice, even remotely. Setting yourself up for letdown tbh! And as far as Rih goes, she never releases the same things, either. The amount of SHOCK produced by this song is very interesting to me.
Tbh, Rihanna just takes one side of her past albums and further develops that. It's hardly like she drops everything and starts over.
Right? It could either slay or not. I think it'll do okay, but I don't see it being one of her biggest singles. Probably Top 10, there isn't too much competition but UF is slaying hard.
I knew it was her first single when she called it 'glimpse into MY new music'. With a radio deal and iTunes banners, this will be a top 3 or number 1 hit.
This is definitely a "drop everything and start over" single though... so!
If it's really her lead single, which I'm holding out hope against, I have to give it to her for being bold, it's definitely out there for her. I can see some precedents, but this isn't what I expected.
I don't think this was a good choice, but it's nice to know she's willing to try new things out.
