The scariest for me is The Exorcist because I watched it at 1am in the morning and could not sleep afterwards.
The Shining is the runner up, the psychological build up is something I have never experienced in any horror film before. I was mentally exhausted to the point where I had to paused it several times.
The babadook had the same effect as The Shining but the latter was more intense.
The Shining bored the **** out of me. So did the one with moving object.. Poltergeist! Funny ****.
I haven't watched The Exorcist because admittedly I'm scared.
The Babadook is alright. It didn't frighten me that much but the acting was just spectacular. I can FEEL the mother's grief.

We NEED to do this! But we need to do like nominations and NOT feeding people with the list of movies and what to rate. We need spontaneity.

The Exorcist will scare the s*** out of you. The images of a possessed Regan will be stuck in your head for some time. I felt some sort of sadness when Father Karras jumped to his death in the end.
The Shinning is all psychological. Ir's a bit boring at the start but the build up is everything, the last 30 minutes of the film is epic.

If you thought The Shinning was boring then The Exorcists will probably bore you too.
The scenes that are meant to be scary work and are very well shot but it just takes too long in my opinion. I feel like most old movies are more appreciated for what they brought at the time not because they are still scary today because frankly I don't think they are(with th exception of Halloween)
Watched As Above, So Below yesterday, I kinda liked it tbh. I was really scared and felt claustrophobic and scared a few times. I though it was kinda clever, had a great set-up and cool female lead.
I really need to watch this. Will I be able to sleep at night though?
This takes "torture ****" to a whole new level, IMO. I watched Cannibal Holocaust and was not nearly as shook up as when I watched Matyrs. Probably my mind. I'm still waiting for the Green Inferno to so a comparison with Cannibal Holocaust. Whoever said the Exorcist wasn't scary especially the remastered one--YOU ARE A HORROR SOLDIER because that is still the only scary movie I have to watch in the daytime and I prode myself on knowing and toloerating horror quite well.
Babadook took me back to old school horror where your imagination causes your fright to just grow and form all kinds of wicked theories. It's been a long time since such a well done horror in this type genre was done. In the end, I found it more interesting than frightening but definately a good watch.
I don't remember being scared by any horror movie lol
But disturbed, yes, I couldn't sleep when I watched the Dawn of the Dead remake when I was child
And I cried when I first saw a Saw movie (where the woman has to chop her arms off)
But now I'm stronger than yesterday

WHAT? No, wait. Cannibal Holocaust was more disgusting than disturbing imo. I didn't finish the whole filme since I was kinda disgusted and disturbed by the imagery and animal killings, no sir.
I think Green Inferno (based on the caps) is a really tame version of Cannibal Holocaust. Has anyone watched Cannibal Ferox? I think that's the most banned film in history.

Really?? I think I've just been "broken in" to say, since a young age with that movie. My brother made me watch the Exorcist so many times with him when I was like.. 6-10 I used to be scared to the point where I couldn't sleep for a week but now I find myself to be REALLY bored watching it
And I think we should work on that disturbing movie rate!
What's with all these Horror flops? I need a good original horror movie that scares the sh*t outta me. It seems more like only those who just graduated from college are making horror movies
