Epic Records did Cher Lloyd WRONG. It is a disgrace that this song flopped! “Sirens” is one of the best songs in Cher Lloyd’s entire discography (so far), and yet, it flopped miserably. “Sirens” is one of the most lyrically powerful songs of 2014, and it slayed me for months. Cher is incredible in the music video as well, proving that she’s come a long way and will continue to grow and mature as an artist. I still get chills from listening to this song – one of the most perfect tracks of 2014.

The spotlight of pop music deserves to shine a little brighter on Tove Lo.
“Habits (Stay High)” proves that Tove is an incredible songwriter, and this song captivated me from the first listen. I’m not sure how I discovered “Habits” in the first place, but it sounds incredible in the context of both Tove’s Truth Serum EP and her debut album, Queen of the Clouds. I believe Tove will have a huge year in 2015, with even more well-deserved success on the horizon. See future hits, including: “Talking Body,” “Not On Drugs,” and “Out of Mind.”

Is this ironic or a coincidence that “2 On” takes the #2 position of my Top 100 of 2014? I was late to discover this song, but like “Baby Don’t Lie,” if I had discovered it sooner, it definitely would have been a contender for to be my #1 song of 2014. Heck, it almost hit #1 anyway. Tinashe’s vocals sound incredible against the DJ Mustard production. Though ScHoolboy Q’s verse doesn’t add or take anything away from “2 On,” I love singing along to one of the most flawless guilty pleasures of 2014.
