I said "forgettable," not "forgotten." Hold It Against Me at least is really upbeat and has a lot going on in its production, while Part of Me sounds like background music for a LifeTime movie introduction.

But forgotten can work in my favor as well, seeing as how such a huge singles era like Teenage Dream only spouted one single that wasn't dropped on its ass and left to rot, and mainly only because it has a holiday tie-in.

Omg, stan for Tim McGlobal. But Taylor has always loved pop music, wanted to do it & her transition from country to pop is like the most flawless thing ever. If you really want to laugh just listen to Katy's first gospel album then IKAG. Now that's a sellout.

Well, counting collabs, Rihanna has the same number of #1 hits this decade and more weeks at #1. People seem to underrate her value overall, sometimes. Like, she's the only girl with nearly the US digital sales of Taylor, and her albums - though nothing spectacular in sales - are consistently successful.

I'd agree that Katy is WAY bigger here right now, though.

Firework and Teenage Dream are kinda modern classics. Wide Awake is still pretty well remembered too, 3 from one era ain't a bad ratio when some artists have only 1 or 2 their whole career. When Katy releases strings of hit singles it's kinda expected that some will be forgotten.

Now if you want to talk about Britney most of her music is pretty much completely forgotten, it aged almost as badly as she did. It's kinda sad how correct her song "I'm A Slave 4 U" turned out to be. At least Katy is allowed to go to the toilet without permission!

It's true Taylor was pretty smart with the transition, but it still makes her a sellout As much as I don't use her I'm not gonna deny she (or her team) is easily one of the shrewdest pop girls when it comes to marketing and self-promotion. Katy's albums were 7 years apart though at least, a lot can happen in that time sis, it's not like she released a country album then 2 years laters started using Max Martin after her peers started slaying with classic pop music
