Heartbeat Song is something Kelly's been doing for the past 5 or more years, right? I mean, she's good with these kidn of songs (Catch My Breath, People Like Us, My Life Would Suck Without You, Stronger, I Do Not Hook Up) but can she turn it around and release something new?

She had Honestly, Let Me Down, Don't Let Me Stop You, Maybe, The Sun is Rising which are not pure pop songs and have elements of country / rock in them. I like Heartbeat Song but I really feel like it's another straight up Kelly pop song that is just another boring pop song after 2 years.

People don't understand the politics of the industry, radio and her music. Pop radio hasn't fully supported a Kelly single since Stronger, 3 years ago. She needed a familiar anthem to get her songs back on pop radio.

Some may call it being stuck with the same sound, but it's actually just being smart and playing the radio industry game, and that's why artists like Kelly and P!nk have longevity compared to their peers, because both know how to play the industry and separate themselves from it.
