I do feel like business math classes should be more stressed than higher level algebra, trigonometry, calculus, etc. are right now.

I completely agree with you on this post. A lot of students, from my observation, do not have any desire to learn mathematics, so they do not put in the work. In addition, it is an overwhelming subject because it builds on itself, and if you do not get one concept, you will be in trouble. As such, I think that many students truly experience a fear/anxiety regarding their math classes, as they think their grade will be extremely low.
I also concur about the business math classes. Business involves a lot of math -- that realm boils down to the numbers in many cases, and I don't think that many business students care for math. Some people in my college macroeconomics course, for example, do not understand essential mathematical principles and techniques that they should have learned in high school.
