Oyelowo stings as an incredible snub but there weren't many black actors/actresses in contention. I think there needs to be more films that could make it more possible for these award bodies and blind casting should be used more often. I think we'll be seeing more variety too as the older generation dies off in this coming decade. It's sad.

Hollywood won't ever change. If they cannot award a movie over MLK i.e. a leader of the Civil Rights movements but decide to cape for a film on slavery.

We provide positive representations and they're still snubbed.

Everything about her is amazingly orchestrated, from the feuds and songs about John Mayer/Perry/that Camilla girl to promote her albums, to her image, famous friends, etc...

I'm disappointed no black people were nominated this year, especially since Selma was such an excellent film, but honestly not surprised. Only like 15 black actors/actresses have ever even won an Oscar in its 86 years of existance.

the Grammys may be hated for their bias but at least black people are equally represented there, moreso than the Oscars at least.
