WAIT I just noticed another reference to Asylum. When Elsa says "We're going to watch a film from my collection", Suzy says "Not the Sign of the Cross again!" That was the film they watched during the storm on Asylum.
The thing they did to Stanley was so shocking. But both he and Maggie had it coming.

Next week's episode looks insane, Dandy will probably kill most/all but twins of the freak show. And Elsa will probably die on stage, like a true artist
What exactly did Maggie do to have her body cut in half coming? She didn't kill anyone? She saved their lives in the end? You don't even have to like her to admit she was more of a hero than a villain
"They brought him in to take over the freak show!"
Is that why they brought him to jail & then had Dandy buy the show?

Why did Maggie need to die?
He served NO purpose.
It just added some drama to the plot. What's the point of Dandy besides the random murders? What was the point of Gabourey? etc. You can argue any of the characters' purpose tbh.

You can't ARGUE the purpose of a major character. Gloria, Regina & Chester did nothing, so those, you CAN.
