Why is appropriation such a painfully difficult concept for white people to understand?

The reason why artists like Bruno, JT, and Teena Marie don't get flack for their music is because of their musical integrity and background roots that influenced it. Bruno Mars has always loved and had an appreciation for funk music.

People like Iggy and Miley are criticized because they're using black culture not as a way of musical or artistic expression but as a platform to come off "edgy". When Miley wanted to be rebellious and break her Disney image, suddenly she asked for something that "feels Black" () and Iggy being some random white girl from Australia who's completely out of touch with black culture, people feel she's doing something similar.

It's not complicated so stop making these dumb threads.

First of all, classical music is no longer a culture-influencing genre. It's almost like Latin, a dead language that never changes.

Blacks have never attempted to culturally "smudge" whites out of their Classical music roots and because Blacks minority population living in a white-dominated society they cannot suppress a majority population and systematically profit off of using it.

That's racist white people's propaganda. They wanted to make black people felt they're lower than white people, so they associated them with animal. I've seen white people call Polynesian/South East Asian monkey too because we're brown and small. Since Bruno is half Filipino, he has every right to use ape imagery in his artwork.
