1989 went top 5 in Germany as did SIO and they went top 10 in France. Katy's never had #1 albums there so I don't know why the Kats are getting so full of themselves. Taylor's not that big in most European countries aside from SIO and IKYWT. She's huge in Asia though so she still remains more global than most of the other girls

Its highest U.S. success was just missing the top spot at number 2 on the US Adult Contemporary Top 20.

Why do people make it seem like it's an issue that she's not big in Germany and France?

Her two biggest music markets are the U.S. and Japan, both of which are respectively the #1 and #2 largest and most profitable ones in the entire world. Who gives a **** how much she sells in select European nations, especially when her album already passed 5 million in sales?

Can we agree that Rolling Stone is the biggest piece of **** of all time? Before when Gaga was popular/successful, they called her QOP first. They gave her the best reviews and named Born This Way one of the most important female albums of all time. Now that's she's a 4lop, suddenly she's a loser and she disappointed Sting with her performance etc.

Urban music does great here, but each country has their own urban artists, and we use those instead of the American ones.

Also, for American music to go international it has to be a pop hit there, and urban music doesn't cross over anymore. Which is logical when it's as bad as No Type, Try Me, Only, 7/11 etc. The times of In Da Club are long gone.

Yes, living in Europe isolated me from many local entertainment items such as That's So Raven, K$ and TayLORD Swiftsus. Thankfully I still got to experience the love for TayLORD but the first two passed their expiration dates by the time I came to the USA.

I'll give you that. Sure explains why Blurred Lines was so global, yet the likes of Kendrick, J. Cole, and Drake never really saw the light of day internationally (excluding Canada for the latter). It's like after Flusher's "Confessions" album, hip-hop became local to North America, (aside from when a rapper scores a huge smash), and R&B basically became a U.S. novelty.
