Ghost Ella Henderson 2013: Daylight - Maroon 5 Peak: #4 Weeks: 10 I was pretty surprised when I heard this song. Being 6th place on X Factor, I wasn't expecting much from her music. But her taking 2 years to release music was a smart move as it really honed her sound into this masterpiece. It's like the perfect mid-tempo pop-rock ballad Leona Lewis never had. Her voice of course, is amazing too.

Budapest George Ezra 2013: Take A Walk - Passion Pit Peak: #1 Weeks: 10 This song is my lowest charting #1 single, poor ha. Anyways, George is such a stunning man. His voice is simply out of this world. It's so rich and wholesome, it's a eargasm to hear him sing. This song is a good soft rock ode to I assume, the city (which is a really beautiful place cuz I've been there before ).

Automatic Miranda Lambert 2013: Holy Grail (feat. Justin Timberlake) - Jay-Z Peak: #8 Weeks: 9 I don't really listen to country, so I was very pleased with this song. It has a simple structure and is a fairly normal tune, which is totally fine cuz it's country and has that nice country laidback vibe anyway. The lyrics are so amazing. It reminisces of a time where things weren't so automated and advanced. Even though I've basically been raised in the technology era, this is a nice poignant song that really makes me wonder how cool life was like back then.

Hunger of the Pine Alt-J 2013: Same Love (feat. Mary Lambert) - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Peak: #10 Weeks: 7 Let's be real, the main attraction of this song is the Miley sample. It's so bizzare, 4x4 is such a crazy fun song but when it's sampled in this slow song, it miraculously fits. Also I love those blare sounds (idk what is it called but Kanye uses it a lot in Yeezus too).

Sweater Weather The Neighbourhood 2013: C'mon - Kesha Rose Peak: #4 Weeks: 14 I don't really need to explain this song much. It's just so good. So so good. Literally every part of this song is good. Even better when the song slows down into this Hawaiian style breakdown. I just feel like I'm sitting by the beach and chilling, not quite wearing a sweater instead tho.

Chandelier Sia 2013: Miss Jackson (feat. Lolo) - Panic! at the Disco Peak: #29 Weeks: 6 I would like to dedicate this song to Amaloner cuz I wanna swing off his chandelier. Okay anyway, as you can see this song peaked very low on my charts. That's cuz I actually got bored of it really quickly after I discovered it. But then it suddenly blew up and I listened to it again. Sia is a phenomenal performer and the video is top-notch.

Boom Clap Charli XCX 2013: #Beautiful (feat. Miguel) - Mariah Carey Peak: #5 Weeks: 12 I thought this was surprising. I always imagined Charli's music to be all vulgar and abrasive and edgy etc. But this is such a sweet lovey pop song. I remember feeling that "boom clap" sounds so cheesy and so un-punkish but it grew on me since this song is pop perfection. The booming beats, the catchiness, this is sugary sweet perfection.

5 3	Girls The 1975 2013: Safe and Sound - Capital Cities Peak: #1 Weeks: 11 This song is so funky. The guitars are so funky in the song and it's so catchy. And I really love the pre-chorus "rap", it's so fun! This song is just a total bop from start to end.

XO Beyoncé 2013: Final Warning - Skylar Grey Peak: #3 Weeks: 11 ATRL seems to hate this like wtf guys. Tbh I thought it was fine as a single (maybe not lead, but whatever) but sadly it flopped anyway. This song is perfect. So dreamy yet so anthemic in the chorus. It kinda reminds me of some good times in early 2014 too so that's nice.

All The Rage Back Home Interpol 2013: If I Lose Myself - OneRepublic Peak: #10 Weeks: 13 It's quite surprising that I got into this song. This song chugs on with barely any change in instrumentation throughout the song. But it's not meant to be bad, it's just a cool rock song that keeps me feeling pumped throughout the song. So yes this is very cool and interesting.

In the next set we enter the top 50 singles of 2014! We have:

- Someone who was traditionally thought to be Taylor Swift's rival
- Someone who is the rival of one of Taylor Swift's best male friend

Oh Boom Clap I also never thought Charlotte was capable of making a sweet song but she proved me wrong with this one.
