No, structure matters just as much as before. I'm just trying to get a few of you to step outside of your box while also forcing Huga to judge differently this week
You seem pressed by Sam Jay's success. A little monster hating Kesha tea.
my inspiration for this round is drawn from my experience in Hawaii with all of the palm trees. It's v indie and v Bjork inspired, here's a sample
Palm trees
Hang over my head, over my head
Like bullets raining from the sky
I can't deny
These Palm trees strangle me
I drown beneath their grasp
Like the grassy plains I used to know
But now all I have is sand
And in the quicksand I drown
Going down
Here's what I think Euphoressay's song sounds like so far from what I've heard of it: It sounds like urgency. It sounds like betrayal. It sounds like running. It sounds like fainting. It sounds like love. It sounds like -- *gasp!*
I'll probably try to finish my song today, then read over it and see if I still like it and need to make any changes. I'm proud of this one, it's definitely out of my comfort zone.
This new song, What If, is definitely my most ambitious one yet.
What if the ocean was made of water
What if the sky was made of air
What if the ground was made of earth
What if anybody gave a care
What if I won Platinum Hit season 6
What if I had to win a single challenge first
What if I used structure and made sure that each line had an alternate amount of syllables
What if they didn't
What if branches were made of wood
What if glasses were made of glass
What if I wasn't so misunderstood
What if I wasn't such an ass
What if somebody actually liked me
What if I hosted the next season
What if it flopped
Would I be the reason?

And really? A 10?
Well I thought I was going home and I was trying to justify it. I mean lyrically, I can see why you hated it. It's full of cliches. But so many hits these days are! lbr it would have SMASHED had it been an actual song. I nailed my radio friendly sound, now it's time to move on. Progress is key.

Glasses made of glass? Y'all underestimate me sometimes
Nothing wrong with palm trees tho? You were gonna write about a fishbowl so I don't think I'm underestimating anything...
I just hope I don't flop this round for doing something really different. Huga if you don't like it just imagine it with a generic dance beat behind it.
Not when my palm trees are actually an allusion to the human reproduction cycle, with the sun impregnating the tree and the ground providing essential nutrients in order to sustain a healthy coconut as it falls from the tops of the trees and returns to its home on earth to begin the cycle again.

Popular =/= good
If you wrote a song like half of the pop hits this year I would've dragged you to hell and back.
