Katy promoted Roar, Unconditionally and Dark Horse for half a year. Lik we can compare but Rihanna's UA promo for Diamonds and Stay and it pales in comparisson (I'm not saying Rihanna didn't promote at all, she did, Katy just did way more more).

I mean Unapologetic era was also a lot messier too, PIU getting a video when it was too late and the song wasn't even promoted despite selling really well, Right Now not getting a video at all, Jump being ignored despite going top 5 in Australia and etc. The only true flop from the era was What Now, there are no excuses for that one.

Anyway the point was it's not impossible for Rihanna to have another huge era.

Not really. Her singles sales are pretty weak. SIO is barely above Applause and Blank Space sold only 1.7M despite 5 weeks at #1.
