100. Avril Lavigne - Hello Heartache
99. Katy Perry feat. Juicy J - Dark Horse
98. Taylor Swift - Red
97. A$AP Rocky feat. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar - ****in' Problems
96. The Wanted - We Own the Night
#95 Pitbull feat. Ke$ha - Timber
"It's going down, I'm yelling timber / You better move, you better dance / Let's make a night you won't remember / I'll be the one you won't forget"
I'm so proud of Ke$ha for writing another #1 hit song. After 2014, a year that was filled with so much negativity for Ke$ha, it's somewhat comforting to remember that she got herself another #1 hit. Ke$ha's music just makes you feel good, even if you aren't a fan of Pitbull. Here's to a better year for Ke$ha in 2015!
#94 One Direction - Best Song Ever
"And we danced all night to the best song ever / We knew every line, now I can't remember / How it goes but I know that I won't forget her / 'Cause we danced all night to the best song ever"
I remember I heard this song for the first time during the summer, in the car, and I had no idea that it was One Direction. I loved it. It's impact was short-lived, though significant enough to chart on my Top 100 of 2013. Admittedly, I didn't get the Georgia Rose comments for a while until I heard this song.
#93 Vampire Weekend - Diane Young
"Nobody knows what the future holds / And it's bad enough just getting old... / If Diane Young won't change your mind / Baby, baby, baby, baby right on time"
Diane Young was an unexpected find for me in 2013. Honestly, part of its appeal was that I couldn't understand a lot of the lyrics (), but it was catchy and stuck in my head for days. I believe it's the only Vampire Weekend song I've taken the time to listen to .
#92 Zedd feat. Hayley Williams - Stay the Night
"You kill the lights, I'll draw the blinds / Don't dull the sparkle in your eyes... / Are you gonna stay the night? / Are you gonna stay the night?"
Sometimes, I really wish Hayley Williams was a solo artist so we could get songs like this all the time. Between this and Airplanes, Hayley always leaves her distinctive mark as an artist when she features on other artist's songs. With Paramore, she takes it to a whole nother level. I hope she collaborates with Zedd again in the future.
#91 Lady Gaga - Applause
"I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong / To crash the critic saying, "Is it right or is it wrong?" / If only fame had an I.V., baby could I bear / Being away from you, I found the vein, put it in here / I live for the applause..."
I love this catchy mess, and the music video makes me love it even more. Unfortunately for Gaga, a lot of artists released other songs that had more impact for me in 2013. The day Roar & Applause leaked/were released together was truly exciting, but, for probably the first time, Gaga did not emerge as the winner. Can Gaga return to the top of the pop world in 2015?
I came into this thread because I have seen you STANNING for Luke Bryan on a number of best of's so far. I hope he can make maybe 1 appearance on your Best of

I see! I'm glad your a bit open to some of the bro-country songs (by the looks FGL being featured here is an obvious hint of that lol)
Wait 2013 where was he featured? probably for TMKON for sure and maybe CMP
well, you'll see Florida Georgia Line before Luke Bryan
Thanks for your interest Make sure you tell the other country music stans to stop by
This is excellent news overall!
I know 5-15 people that will root for Carrie if she comes but as for other country artists, that is like a group of 5-10, and even smaller for duos/male country artists

Let's convert some ATRLers into country stans! I've seen a lot of stans for Carrie & Kacey Musgraves

Avril + Taylor
Katy + Juicy J So low, though?!?!
Pitbull + Kesha, 1D, Zedd + Hayley, Gaga
Thanks for leaving such a nice comment! tbh Dark Horse ranked pretty high for a song that came out late in 2013 it's ranking this year might be a bit better
Avril and Taylor will have many more appearances

I actually really like ARTPOP as an album, but the singles ARTPOP > Born This Way, imo

#90 Fall Out Boy - My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark
"I've got the scars from tomorrow and I wish you could see / That you’re the antidote to everything except for me, me / A constellation of tears on your lashes / Burn everything you love, then burn the ashes... / My songs know what you did in the dark"
I liked Fall Out Boy a lot in 2006-2007; I don't like their new material as much. That said, this song is an example of how strong Fall Out Boy's writing still is, and how their sound has evolved. This song's rank is in part attributed to the unexpected remix released featuring 2 Chainz, which amplified the song even more.
#89 Ke$ha - Crazy Kids
"Hello, wherever you are / Are you dancing on the dance floor or drinking by the bar? / Tonight we do it big, and shine like stars / And we don't give a **** 'cause that's just who we are... / We are the crazy people"
Ke$ha's flawless ability to produce feel-good music continues with the guilty pleasure Crazy Kids. Though will.i.am's verse is so tragic that it's actually incredible, this song's rank can actually be owed to the fact that I heard it all the time on the radio; it was actually on power rotation on an online radio station that I listened to, which kept the song in my mind for longer than it would have been otherwise.
#88 Mariah Carey & Miguel - #Beautiful
"Ride on through the middle of the night / Let the moonlight kiss your skin / When you dance like that, your jeans so tight / Oh, you’re killing me, baby, do it again"
This song is beautiful. The guitar is simply fantastic, and Mariah and Miguel's voices mesh together beautifully. While the lyrics and the length of the song leave some to be desired, the song itself is excellent. I thought the video was really cute, too.
#87 Katy Perry - By the Grace of God
"Was 27 surviving my return of Saturn / A long vacation didn’t sound so bad / Was full of secrets locked up tight like iron mountain / Running on empty so out of gas... / By the grace of God / I picked myself back up"
Whether you like Katy Perry or not, you almost have to admit that this song is a brave admission. As an album track, I had no obligation to place this on my Top 100, but I did so anyway because of this song's message. Katy Perry is a strong woman who has picked herself up when her world was crashing around her. That's something I think we can all relate to at one point in our lives or another.
#86 Avril Lavigne - You Ain`t Seen Nothin` Yet
"First glance, you nearly made my jaw drop / First dance, and you were looking so hot / Held hands, I moved in for a lip-lock / Don't stop baby, don't stop baby... / Hold on tight to this roller coaster ride / And if you're loving this / Just give me one more kiss / 'Cause you ain't seen nothing yet"
Do yourself a quick favor and listen to this song if you haven't heard it already. This is exactly the type of song I want Avril to record. It's power-pop. It gives me teas of early Cassadee Pope/Hey Monday. The lyrics are a bit juvenile, but I love them. This song gives me energy and, like Hello Heartache, gives me hope for Avril's career that she can still craft amazing songs. I cannot overstate how much I love this song.
