Alright, that was a quote from The Leftovers, but it applies here very well. I think what the video is trying to say is that the world is messed up in so many ways, and they all hurt her equally. The actual gangsters shooting her, the fights between the couples and the vanity of the society illustrated by the twerking girls all hurt her equally, and they all act like a gunshot.
