ARTPOP was mostly a DJ White Shadow/Zedd/Madeon mixtape so it wouldn't have costed much. Prism had Dr. Luke/Max Martin/Bloodshy & Avant/Stargate/Sia/Bonnie and other expensive hitmakers

Assuming you need to make twice the production budget to break even, the difference between Prism and ARTPOP probably isn't much.

Please, a Terry Richardson multiple day shoot that never even got released? Developing an entire app that was never properly utilized or monetized? The cost to get Jeff Koons to do the album art?

The G.U.Y. video alone was more than 5 million dollars.

Well I was only talking about the music production and writing, but promo costs for Prism are likely still higher with so many videos and promo performances around the world. Didn't the Dark Horse grill alone cost millions?
