I have finally made up my mind. Freakshow is the worst season yet. Even Coven is much better.
These last few episodes have been a mess. The horror on this show is completely GONE. The closest thing to horror is Dandy's story and even that is not that impactful to actually make this season better.
At least with Coven, you still have some aspects of horror.

This show ended up being a comedy. Like, 90% of the stuff happening are at to laugh at, and the rest are just casual deaths.

The storyline also goes nowhere.

Not to mention how they are wasting such great talent. They did Angela Bassett SOOO wrong this season. She is incredible but her role is so limited and useless, like most of the roles.

I need this show to go back to its roots during the first two seasons. Stop pleasing the drama queen audience and start focusing on getting back the feeling of an actual horror show back.


And also Gabourey's role I swear i SCREAMED when she popped in Dandy's room. the way she stood there, her hands fighting for dear life to join, and that acting

As far as Gabourey, I've been saying that the whole season. The acting this season has been incredible until Gabourey comes in with her atrocious acting skills. Nothing she says is believable or impactful in any way.

For real though, I was expecting this to be on Asylum's level of ****ed up and creepy, and it hasn't been.

I don't hate it, but it's not slaying as hard as I thought it would/could have.

I agree.

The development doesn't show a sense of greater purpose, and I simply watch the show as it's going on, with no expectation whatsoever, not unlike how I'd treat a soap opera.

The sound effects this episode, though.

The sounds when Elsa slapped Ethel or when the car hit the tree made me SCREAM, but then the sound of Gloria's body hitting the floor was almost as loud as the gunshot that killed her.

It's 12 years before Asylum, Thredson would probably be in Med School. Not to mention that he sounds nothing like any character we've seen before.



The therapist isn't anyone special, it's just a clever way of putting us in his shoes and seeing what a monstrosity Dandy is.

Yeah it's been slacking in the suspense and horror yet it has all the elements to execute it.

It had all the potential to be a really dark, scary and twisted season, much like Asylum. But its ending up to be lighter than Coven

Remove 85% of the drama. Like, most of this episode was ruined by long ass dialogues. I'm all up for character development, but lets not forget this is a horror show. It's not a drama/comedy. The character's life problems and how they deal with those are the LEAST of our interest. We want horror.

The dark and scary atmosphere of the first 2 seasons is what MADE AHS to what it is. Now, it seems like Ryan has lost his way. the writing is mediocre, the scares are limited, and replaced by pure black comedy.

Y'all like to bash Murder House but the fact is, it was a great season. It had the potential to be massive, but the writing and the last few episodes kind of ruined that, but it still remains a dark and disturbing season. Followed by the superior, in every way, Asylum.
And then it went south. But at least Coven served with a lot of impactful scenes, horror and many disturbing moments.


I'm gonna need the 5th season to take us back. Find the magic that made this show what it is. I need a Hostel type of series. Very dark and disturbing.

Well put but based on what the show has what would you change/add? Yeah we can say remove the drama, add in more darkness, make it more disturbing but specifically how?

Personally I would have loved to see Meep as toddler minded cannibalistic killer that keeps on going, have him team up with Twisty, we know Twisty loved kids.

Have Stanley and Dell kill Ma Petite with that tool Stanley has while say Dell holds her down, that would have really sent the show over the edge.

Include more of the Freak orgies, have Dandy be a "paying costumer" and not know what he's in for and really eff him up more and have his strory be more twisted.

The one thing that has been somewhat disturbing has been Danny killing Andy in cold blood and stabbing him over and over. And even that could have been more gruesome. Seeing more people become into "Freaks" would be good, Elsa's back story was great but she's such a bitch no one cares she has no legs, the dad transforming her daughter on the other hand.... that was a highlight.

Honestly this show would do much better on HBO or premium cable and it needs a change of a cast and producers who can really go there.

Does that really matter though? Sister Eunice is popping up in like two episodes after all. I can't help but think the fact that they did;t show us his face is significant.

This season's not bad, but it is missing a lot. It's very drama-esque, although the last episode had a little horror at least. Gabourey is ruining everything though She is so bad. WHERE is my MOTHER! like bitch i dont care
