I think the way JIVE/Larry are doing it this era is "Circus" is the middle single. It's hot enough to keep the album selling, and it's doing great on radio. I mean it's about to be ANOTHER TOP 3 POP RADIO HIT for her. That's definitely not saying overshadow. Beyonce's case would be more of an overshadowing situation with "Single Ladies" still growing while "Halo" is trying to impact.
But about the middle single, instead of them working it to death like they did "Toxic" as the 2nd single, "If U Seek Amy" is the single she will perform and they will heavily promote.
So no, "Circus" is not going to be overshadowed. It's about to surpass "Womanizer", it's audience is AMAZING, and it's doing great on TV/digital.
