(OMG! I don't even know what to say...OMG! I feel it...OMG...what is this song!)

Pedro - Shakira Shakira - Dare(La La La)
(I most especially like this essay because it proves that personal doesn't necessarily mean sad and I can definitely understand why this would be your best and personal favorite song from her...YOU MET YOUR FAVE AND GOT IN HER MUSIC VIDEO! That's insane! The pictures too add an amazing touch)

As You Are - A great choice of song and I find the essay used a lot of great proof.

Dare (La La La) - Love you as a player and I love this song but I really don't think this was the song to choose. A lot of better choices from "Shakira." it may mean a lot to you but I just didn't connect.
Why Try - This was a weirdly written essay and not my first choice.
Do What U Want - Very weird choice, one of the last ones I'd expect anyone to choose. The essay lacked emotion.
You - I don't think this was a good choice, I don't know much about this album but your essay didn't convince me.

Thanks for giving me a reason but when you say "A lot of better choices from 'Shakira.'" it just doesn't make sense. This was not a round where there were good or bad choices but reasons. I could have even picked 'La La La' and say "because I love football". It was a personal round. But anyway, at least you justified yourself.

Anyway, I'll probably rank last in the public vote but I am so proud of my entry and I am glad, at least VDK, understood where I was coming from.

It's one of the songs from Avril that I really feel I cant touch or judge or want people know that I love/relate to the song since it is too personal for me.

that's why I was on the verge of not using it and tell my story because I really don't feel comfortable sharing me and my bestfriend's story.

I thought long and hard about who to vote for and who to vote off. I'd like to start out and say everyone's entry's we're absolutely amazing And that's why this decision was the hardest for me.

Save:
Slipped Away - by far the only song that speaks to me 100%. A couple weeks ago I lost my grandma, and for me it's by far the hardest experience I've had. I've never lost someone so close to me ever in my life and this song absolutely flooded all those memories. Impressive choice and absolutely solid essay; I just wanted to say thank you for me rediscovering this song, it's been helping me in my recovery process.

Ribs - another song that goes hand in hand with my previous save. It speaks to me as you get older you notice your innocence gets lost in the trek through adulthood. All my experiences out of my teen years have been full of hardships and the struggle to understand and accept is hard. Good choice and absolutely amazing essay.

I Miss You - another amazing choice describing my current life situation. Like I said it speaks a lot to the death of my grandmother and this song sadly fits these emotions as did Slipped Away.

Honorable Mentions:
Your Heart Is A Muscle - never been in such a relationship but for me the song and your essay was absolutely beautiful. My saves were such hard decisions.

Off:
Believers (Arab Springs) - your essay I felt lacked a bit and I couldn't grasp what you were conveying in your essay with the song.
Do What U Want - I just don't see the correlation between the song and your essay either, I feel it's more of a sexual rouse than a "middle finger" in the air type of song.
Luxury - I love this song and I love the essay a bit. But something was lacking I couldn't put my finger on...the song didn't make sense to a relationship.
Dare (La La La) - Pedro! Man! I adore your essay but the song for me isn't that great. This was so hard to decide but I know you'll be fine this round...I just wasn't a fan of this song.

Thank you so much. It's been a blessing in disguise, if that makes sense? It's changed a lot of my families habits. My dad was a raging alcoholic and after losing his mom, he bid to quit drinking (which he's kept up with) and it's even caused my parents to become much closer than before (they're divorced). So for me this was perfect and also sorry about your loss also!

You're welcome. Im glad that you and your family was able to look at the brighter side of life and changed ways for the better. Just like what i've said on my essay, Death of someone close to you could totally change you as a person and it's only up to you to take it negatively or positively. make your grandma proud! As for me, i've moved on already but the pain does not go away, you just learn how to conceal it and get used to it tbh
