No. You just have to work harder and release strong quality bodies of work not just lil cute singles + filler. Fan connection is becoming more and more important. Fans need to be invested enough to buy.

It hit 1.5M two months ago and This Is How We Do is still charting, so it's more likely closer to being 1.6M now. Plus Katy has the Super Bowl and Grammys early next year to help album sales. PRISM will definitely scan 2x platinum in the US when all is said and done.

Seems like it for everyone but Taylor and Adele. Beyoncé could do it again, but unless she gets everyone talking like with self-titled, her next album will probably do 4 numbers (which is still totally great at this point).

You were also going on and on about TIHWD definitely being a huge smash, so you'll forgive me if I don't put much stock in your predictions. PRISM is dead and there's no way halftime + Grammys (getting ahead of ourselves?) will push 400k+.

It's certainly a rare feat but it's not impossible. The pop girls definitely need to up their game if they want multi-platinum albums though. Many of their last releases were mediocre at best.
