I know she feels like she has to do these kind of performances at this time of her career, since she is the biggest artist right now, but damn girl, tone it down just a bit
Kinda agree. I don't mind the gimmicks that much but her expressions throughout the song I felt were a bit cringeworthy. Her vocals were bit shaky but still good.
The moment I read that she's going to dance with 20 dancers I knew the perf would be so messy WANEGBT at Grammys 2013 teas

Shaky at which parts? For me, she was trying to portray the crazy girl through her voice that she was grunting lots at some parts. Not sure if I like it or hate it.
The First part was so cool it fell flat a bit in the second part then idk what to think about it after its like Tay couldn't decide if she was doing choreo or "crazy face" or actual singing and it was messy
she keep touching her hair and in the end it look kinda messed up and i was like girl you over did it a bit and then at that moment she quickly fixed it before the end close up
Have you seen this? The performance as seen from the audience
So much better than the broadcasted version
This is why I love fancams SO MUCH more than the broadcasted ones
The sound, the gimmicks and visuals >>>>>
I think for me, the perf is better when we see it in one shot

She was portraying the crazy girl image that's why she touched her hair a lot and when she fixed her hair at the end, it means that she is trying to impress the new guy by looking clean, neat and good.

it does look better when you can see it flow
yeah i know thats why she was messing with her hair although i did no pick up on that as the reason she fixed it i like the perf a bit better now

Yea, her crazy expressions were too much. She could've switched it up a bit and been lustful one minute and crazy the next, instead she just looked crazy the whole time. Like I said earlier, it was all over the place, non cohesive.

"Over did it" perfect description of the performance tbh

It's hard to express the theatrical aspect of a performance through tv. You can only see and understand the bigger picture when you're experiencing it before your eyes. I applaud for her effort and I appreciate that perf more after seeing that fancam video
And did you know after she threw the guy (in red shirt) up in the air, the guy came back by wearing a black shirt which symbolises he's one of her long-list of ex-lovers? Edit: Or maybe not cause I can't see his face
