You spent the last half of 2014 busily. One thing that was unexpected was that many expected you to debut with a dance or hip hop genre based song but you came out with lyrical music surprising many.
Taehyun: (laughs) Everyone says that. We only just finished promotions for our first album. We still hae a lot of time left to be onstage. We will show a variety of genres. We are always working on music and we are making songs with strong beats. Mino-hyung is making traditional hip hop songs. The choice however is up to CEO Yang Hyunsuk.
What kind of WINNER willl we see in 2015?
Seung yoon: In 2015, we want to be a group that not only appeals to fans but a wide audience. Also, we want to win an award. If that award is a daesung, we will be rendered speechless. Anyhow, we want to be a group with good results that can receive that kind of award based on our music.
Seunghoon: to do that we have to become an unforgettable group we plan on releasing an album frequently. To do that, we all are working hard on producing songs during our free time. YG has many incredible artists. We plan on doing a variety of collaboratiosn with those artists.
The thing WINNER has over iKON is that all the members have their own musical identity and could probably all go solo (or at least release solo singles) if they wanted to which they proved during their performance at the MMAs. It's kinda hard to predict which way they'll go with their next album because there are so many options. Excited for whatever they choose though, Empty was the last thing everyone expected from them so I'm sure they'll surprise again.
I love Serenade By Seunghoon mainly because it combines two sonngs i really like together. Its My Chemical Romance-Sing mixed with GD-Crooked. Mina of Girl's Day stans!
On November 22, Block B opened up their second solo concert “2014 Blockbuster Remastering” at Seoul Olympic Park’s SK Handball Gymnasium. The subtitle and concept of the concert was ‘I’m your villain.’
Ahead of the group’s final ending stage, the members of Block B expressed to their fans, “We’re not from a big company, and we’re not big artists, so we can’t promote very often. But whenever we do come out with a new album, we devote our hearts and souls into preparing it. Even if we look stingy, please show us a lot of love.”
The members continued to explain, “This year was a very special year for us. We will work hard to show a better side of us next year, and we will show everything we haven’t been able to show until now. Look forward to it,” as they laughed.
