BTW's sales are closer to 7M. TD's are right around the 6M mark (at a push).

But receipts HAVE PROVED that 6M for TD is the very least.

dddddd I'm pathetic as you seethe over the 99c deal where Gaga and Amazon made millions. We know the shipped 2011 numbers, and anyone who has a concept of album sales doesn't pretend TD sold what BTW did in albums. Then again, you're in here pretending topping an abysmal tour gross associated with a hit album makes you a touring force so why look for logic!

At the end of the day, everyone said Katy couldn't draw ticket sales at the end of the last era. Now she's done so, the goalposts have naturally been moved by those too pressed to congratulate someone they don't like on their success

Nobody would deny TD had more hits and certainly lasted much better (though with a re-release) but the idea it makes it bigger when it sold less and had a much less successful tour by comparison to Gaga's is She certainly got closer to Gaga's success after being galaxies away prior to the eras, but PRISM/ARTPOP is when Katy overtook Gaga in current sales.

ok thats why gaga is on jazz right now and flop so hard? So sad

This thread just feels a lil premature.

That's funny. The poll says otherwise
The only thing you guys need to accept is that Katy is slaying. Katy's been underestimated since the beginning of career by haters like you The "local" one-hit-wonder, who only sells singles for kids is now a touring force.
Katy has never declined and certainly not in the touring department. That's one of the reasons + the fact that the biggest grossing female tour of 2014 is indeed a Katy Perry production

Ew Kathryn stans are getting a flap at realizing Katy has only just began outdoing Gaga's album sales in current terms so let me leave before someone has to get out their frustration at the 99c deal that Gaga and her label made millions off, or how $60M "isn't that bad" for a hit album with a string of #1s.
If BTW shipped almost 7M by December 2011 it's sales were ballparking 6M by the end of that year. It remained in the best sellers WW for weeks of 2012 and all before her tour kicked off. Even with a re-release, 3 years of sales didn't get TD to 6M, but pretend it's now flying up in sales to 6.5M.
Peace out, history re-writers!

Look at their certifications, they pretty much sold the same, in some countries TD sold more than BTW, in others BTW sold more than TD.
Plus 40M more singles, more views on VEVO, more awards, more followers, more airplay, longevity...
TD was bigger.
That's the reason why the GP was here for PRISM and supported Katy this era.
BTW was the era that Gaga lost most of her supporters and even her stans know it.

Actually, it doesn't mean anything.
The fact you use different receipts everytime is funny though, what about the 8M shippements by Interscope that were reported BEFORE the 7M thing?

Let me post once more to clarify for the slower among us. I never changed receipts, the IFPI report shows 6.8 (or 6.9 I can't remember which) for BTW shipments in 2011. It was released in May, you don't overship after 6 months of sales so give me a break with it selling way under 6M with those shipped numbers. 8M was from Gaga, she also says her first two albums sold 20M copies because QUEEN!
8M is a likely shipped figure today, but again, going by the logic in this thread, BTW was stopped from selling copies at the turn of 2012, while TD has sold new copies through 2013 that bump its total from the 6M mark to 6.5M.

I was not targeting at you specifically. I was talking about Monsters.
In what world did BTW have that much of longevity when it sold 1/3 or its total sales in a week WW and the half of its US total in a week as well though?

Yeah because we all know Billboard knows about WW sales.
They are clearly reporting Interscope's numbers.
+ "December 2011" when BTW had been released 6 months earlier
