I know you're joking, but some fans probably think that. She's never been a tryhard or a people pleaser.Prism is not akin to Bionic//Born This Way/My December/Try This where the fans are left wondering if it's over. The album spawned two gigantic hits (which is a huge feat for any artist) and she's been on a sold out world tour since.
"Peacock" is terrible. She got lucky when that was scrapped.
Yes, I am joking. The fact is that ATRL (and admittedly us Kats) holds Katy to the standards of Teenage Dream that anything less would be considered a FLOP. They discredit her by focusing on the underwhelming singles while completely ignoring the achievements of the two Mega-Hits "Roar" and Dark Horse" but I wouldn't expect anything less from ATRL.

This obviously happened to every artist on ATRL though. No one's denying "Dark Horse" or "Roar"s success.
And 1989 is not even a good album. It really isn't. The hooks and choruses are just weak, plain weak. Her vocals are excruciating in some parts of the songs even in the studio versions. Her songwriting is crazy overhyped for whatever reason: everything is mellow and ordinary. Like they came out of a 10 year old's diary. I mean Katy gets a lot of flack for using clichés but why is everyone just ignoring the fact Swift sings about Romeo and Juliet? People will probably think I'm a hater but I just don't see her appeal nor do I hear anything good in her music. Her only song I've ever bothered to voluntarily listen to multiple times is Red.
Last year she tweeted music from Kacey and Brooke an collaborated with them.
This year she did Allie X and now this artist. Is that a sign?
Perhaps. Both WOA and LL were commissioned for remixes a while back. I don't know if they'll be released, though.
I honestly think she's just enjoying this "new" wave of radio-ready house music. She posted this Yelle track a month ago that's also very 90's radio house.
