"It sounds like an Unapologetic leftover" When the production and lyrics resemble literally NONE of the songs on Unapologetic. Rap-Singing has been Beyoncé's thing since 1998, Rihanna has NEVER done it, Bug a Boo spits harder than anything on TTT, Destiny's Child's career was built on Bey's ability to fast rap-sing. Beyoncé has been delivering urban bops since before Rihanna crawled along the seafloor from the Caribbean and surfaced in the Def Jam offices.

All before Rihanna even went Rated R and way before she discovered Birthday Cake, the fact is Beyoncé's music has always been urban and had influences from rap and hip-hop, and trying to say that it's 'not classy like her' or 'unexpected' is dumb as **** when she's had songs referencing her 'Kitty Kat' long before suburban moms had the first disc of I Am... Sasha Fierce on repeat in their minivan. Sit. Down.
You mean Beyonce used to give us ratchet bops until she switched it up with 4 in 2011 while Rihanna was strictly know for her pop hits up until Talk that Talk like 2 years ago.
Yes pon de replay was such a pop hit
Anyway going to wait for the full track to judge the song
Because they dare to put things into perspective? Come on. I'm not saying this song is genius, I'm just saying that a lot of things are not well received by the public because most people in the world are followers. They like the status quo, they like what they already know to be "normal". That's why BTINH was the biggest single from 4, and a great song like Countdown that was new and fresh flopped.

Thank you. The timeline on Rihanna urban songs says otherwise. They keep talking about Unapologetic which is relatively new and Beyonce and DC inspired. That album came out a few years ago but they want to act like it was original. I can make a fool outta them with receipts but I wont waste my time.
the reason is because were used to rihanna giving us ratchet bops. beyonce is usually known as the classier of the 2. people aren't use to ratchet bops from bey and when people say it sounds like a rihanna song, i think people mean it sounds like a song were use to hearing from rihanna. it honestly sounds like an unapologetic leftover.
Yall need to just stop. Stop latching ur fav's name to everything Bey does. Rih releasing a bandz make her dance knock-off is not the bane of urban music.

Ya I can't understand why they aren't realizing the difference between being part of a culture all your life (Beyoncé) and joining a trend (even if you are an early adopter like Rihanna).

Pon de replay was Caribbean dance hall inspired. A matter of fact the same infectious beat could be heard on some popular dancehall songs BEFORE Rihanna dropped Pon De replay.
