Um yes, Rihanna was a copy of Beyonce, Jay pretty much confirmed they started her off that way to gain interest. After her first two albums flopped (with hit singles) they went in another direction (one RIh wanted) and it worked out because she stopped copying Bey and started copying people that weren't as popular (Fefe, Kelis).
